You're right, they do. These slightly run down apartment blocks are indeed like a industrial building, just for people. From the distance they look incredbly ugly and monotone but when you come closer you find some nice places. Every balcony, every flat and even every stairway shows a bit humanity among the bleakness...

i guess there wouldnt be too much point in photography if it was for portraying pretty things. hehe. beauty is complex, i guess.

same here. big time. I'm hitchhiking from Scotland to India at the moment and boy, I feel I'm growing every second. Not necessarily in the intended direction...but that's part of it...

mailboxes in the apartment blocks are something amazing...they kind of tell a story of the people living on a close space...all separate individuals, separated by the frame. Especially when the boxes are old and used. I found another one in Budapest...will post in a minute.
